Why this website and blog?

This website is dedicated to the three year capital campaign to renovate the brick facade of Little Flower Church, dedicated to St. Therese of Lisieux, a Doctor of the Church. Through moisture penetration, the faces of many of the bricks have chipped off during freeze and thaw cycles in what's called spalling. This condition not only blemishes the church, but can be hazardous to people below if a brick face falls on them. While a church is really the people of the community, Little Flower's buildings house the school, and parishioners, and represent a physical neighborhood anchor to the Eastside of Indianapolis. It is also a faith anchor, whose patroness said, "I want to spend my heaven doing good on earth." Little Flower has formed dozens of priests and religious.
