My Lord, we dwell in the midst of the struggle for position and power. Do we not carry many common beliefs that govern our actions? Deep within, does not love bind us to each other? Why do we, made in Your image, continuously rebel from the Father? Why Lord, is true love is spurned?

It is evil that drives Your creations apart – from each other, from You. What earthly force can defeat it, other than the Law and the will to accept the Cross when we speak it? In the beginning there can be only One Law, the eternal law, known in the stillness of our hearts. It is rooted in our souls and beyond opinion. Nonetheless, minds build monuments of reason that dissuade simple understanding, seeking human needs apart from the Law. Yet, the harmony of all is governed by the One, and His inspiring love. To submit to the One Love is to share in the instruments that conquer evil: His love shared and justice sought through that love.

Heavenly Father, there is always that divide that is the choice You gave to your creation: to accept and be governed by the Law or to ignore the Law in favor of our own desires. To be separated from the One Law is to deny our ragged human state. To follow monuments of interpretation is to yield to the arguments of false shepherds.

My Lord, Your commands are loving guides for our happiness. Make my small voice and acts those of Your will, humble in Your presence, loving and resolute.
