The Story of a Soul, Chapter 5: Christmas Grace and After, p. 70-72

Therese felt that God's grace "was poured in her (and Celine's) souls as they sat in the attic under the glow of golden stars. She did not dare hope to find Christ in Communion any more than her confessor might permit, and was overjoyed that he allowed her to go several times a week. She did ot tell her director that she felt he was a mirror of Christ and that He acted directed toward her, "lavishing favors on His 'little flower'.

Therese found it nearly unbearable to visit Pauline at the Carmel monestary -- five years they had been separated, and her desire to enter too felt thwarted to all around her save her sister Celine.
