Prosperity in gifts faithfully used, praising You
My Lord! I do not ask for prosperity, though I have seen it written in Your inspired words, "Save now, I beseech thee, O LORD: O LORD, I beseech thee, send now prosperity (Psalm 118:25)."
I have known trials, and they have been landmarks on my path to You. Am I a poor servant to not seek prosperity, wealth and means? I should do so, if only for my children's cause. I feel a less-committed provider if I fail to grasp for enrichment, and even a taste for riches. Still, a prayer by Jabez does not draw me.
Lord, You have placed a journey before me, from my creation. I know only that I have certain skills, and that I might best offer their use in Your praise. If merely to please You is the effect, that is enough. If my actions can support my family and allow me to support Your Church, as well, I thank You for those blessings. May I then use them to create wealth, but never at the cost of Your presence.
I am already so blessed in origins in these United States of America and the opportunities present for myself and my loved ones. Thank you Lord, for those who created this country with Your guidance, and for those who continue to guide it in Your name.
Lord, Jesus, may I continue to offer my small trials in love, as small reflections of Your demonstrated source of All Love. Amen.
